A Client-Ready Plan Is More Than a Report: What Advisors Will Practice in November
Knowing where to click is not the same as handling a client who pushes back on the recommendation.
The client may question the forecast, defend the current process, worry about cash, or agree in the meeting and do nothing afterward. The advisor has to explain the issue in ordinary language, ask a better question, narrow the decision, and keep the follow-up connected to what was agreed.
That is the practice planned for the Clear Path To Cash Advisor App Bootcamp on November 20-21, 2026.
The event is built for accountants, bookkeepers, CAS professionals, and fractional CFOs who understand the numbers and want more practice leading the conversation that follows.
The advisory sequence
The discipline is straightforward: state the expectation, preserve the decision, record the evidence, and practice the conversation before using it with a client.
The recommendation, actual execution, expectation, outside factors, and observed result need to remain recoverable. The Decision Evidence Record keeps the known facts, assumptions, owner-controlled levers, cash floor, failure trigger, agreed response, owner, and review plan together.
The Bootcamp turns that sequence into live practice.
Start with a company case
Participants begin with the Spectrum MFG case, which covers cash, margins, debt, pricing, operations, and forecasting.
The goal is not to identify every interesting number. The goal is to decide what should lead the client conversation.
The group has to separate the financial observation from the explanation. A falling margin can result from pricing, mix, labor, waste, purchasing, or operating disruption. The number creates the question. It does not choose the answer.
Participants will compare explanations, identify the missing evidence, and decide whether the next move is to intervene, maintain the current course, or investigate further.
Rotate through advisor, client, and observer roles
Knowing the method is different from using it while another person is resisting the conclusion.
During role-play, one participant leads the conversation as the advisor. Another responds as the client. The observer listens for the places where the conversation becomes clear or starts to drift.
The advisor practices:
- opening with the pressure the client already feels;
- asking questions instead of giving a long lecture;
- explaining a financial issue without hiding behind jargon;
- distinguishing facts from assumptions;
- presenting more than one decision path;
- handling a reasonable objection;
- narrowing the meeting to one useful next move.
The client role matters because it exposes language that sounds clean in a report but does not work in conversation. The observer role matters because it gives the advisor feedback that is hard to hear while leading the meeting.
Use the Advisor App without turning the session into a software tour
The Advisor App supports the work by keeping the issue, evidence, action, expectation, owner, and result connected.
Participants use the app where it helps the decision. They are not expected to click through every feature.
The app may surface the issue. The advisor still has to decide what the number could mean, what the client can change, what should happen next, and what evidence will matter at the review.
That is the separation between Mike’s method and the product. Mike teaches the judgment. Clear Path To Cash provides the operating environment for applying and preserving it.
Bring an anonymized situation from your practice
On the second day, participants apply the process to an anonymized client situation they prepare before the event.
The situation should include a real business question without exposing private client identity or restricted data. The advisor chooses the tools that answer that question, identifies the findings that matter, and prepares the conversation they expect to lead.
The work includes:
- the client question in the client’s language;
- the financial observation;
- candidate explanations and missing evidence;
- a focused intervention or decision path;
- the expected operating response;
- the expected financial response;
- the owner and due date;
- guardrails and failure triggers;
- the review plan.
Participants rehearse the conversation, hear objections, revise the language, and prepare a client-ready plan.
Leave with material you can use
The intended outputs are practical:
- a completed analysis of an anonymized situation;
- a conversation opening and question map;
- plain-language explanations for the findings that matter;
- feedback from role-play and objection exercises;
- a client-ready report;
- a sequenced 30/60/90-day action plan.
No training can guarantee a client result or replace professional judgment. The event gives the advisor structured practice, direct feedback, and a repeatable way to prepare for the meeting.
Who the event is for
The Bootcamp is a fit for advisors who already work with financial information but want a stronger process after the analysis.
It is especially relevant when the recurring challenge sounds like one of these:
- “I can see the issue, but I struggle to explain the next move.”
- “My reports are solid, but the client conversation stays too broad.”
- “I make recommendations, but follow-through gets disconnected from the review.”
- “I want to use advisory tools without letting the software become the advisor.”
The event is not built around replacing the accountant, bookkeeper, CAS professional, or fractional CFO. It is built around making their judgment easier to apply in a real client moment.
